A program is being discussed that would include a base disbursement of US$11 billion aimed at strengthening reserves and lifting the currency controls.

Through a publication on social media, Caputo announced that he is already in Buenos Aires to lead the talks with the IMF mission that has arrived in the Argentine capital. Despite having traveled with President Javier Milei to the United States to attend Donald Trump's inauguration, Caputo returned to the country and did not join the president on his trip to Davos to participate in the economic forum.
The IMF mission is already in Buenos Aires, where it will meet with the government's economic team to advance discussions on the new program. Minister Luis Caputo described his trip to Washington as 'excellent' and positioned himself to lead the negotiations upon his return to Buenos Aires.
